A serial flasher who was caught β this time β exposing himself to a woman in Lower Nazareth Township will serve seven months to two years in Northampton County Prison, and must follow up with psychological and sex offender treatment, a judge ordered Friday. Benjamin W. Reiss' latest arrest came in March after he exposed and touched himself in front of a woman while they were stopped at a light at a Route intersection, according to court records.
When he knew he had the other driver's attention, he blew her a kiss, police said. Reiss pleaded guilty in August to indecent exposure, as the year-old East Allen Township man also did in and Five years ago, Reiss admitted to exposing himself to four women in Bethlehem while masturbating in his parked car.
Police said officers found traces of semen throughout his vehicle when he was apprehended, and an erotic CD of a woman moaning that played when the car was started. He received two to 23 months in jail.
Two years ago, Reiss was at a parking lot on Male Road in Wind Gap when he flashed a woman who was with her year-old daughter. When the woman's eyes met Reiss', he made an obscene gesture toward her, authorities said. On Friday, defense attorney Gary Asteak said his client has psychological problems that extend beyond his compulsion toward lewd behavior. Exposing himself appears to offer Reiss some kind of release, Asteak said. Reiss has already served nearly his minimum sentence, but before he is paroled, he also faces a probation violation in his case that could bring further prison time.
